Residents of Geta woreda execute over one million birr education projects

Wolkite, June 14 (GICD)–Over one million birr worth education projects have been carried out in Geta woreda by with the participation of the public, the woreda Education Office said.

Office Head Negash Abdo said schools have been expanded and furnished with educational materials in the woreda by the public and the government with more than 1.18 million birr during the past nine months.    

Accordingly, the construction of 94 additional classrooms,16 residential quarters for teachers and 40 toilets has been carried out, and desks, tables, chairs, laboratory equipment as well as blackboards procured and handed over to the office by the community, Negash added.      

Besides the community has been undertaking encouraging activities by expending 123,000 birr to hire teachers and guards for 20 schools,

it was learnt.
