Over 34 million birr revenue collected in Gurage Zone

Wolkite, May 31 (GICD)–Some 34.5 million birr revenue has been collected in Gurage Zone during the past nine months, according to the zonal Tax Administration Branch Office of SNNP State.

Speaking at a branch office consultative forum, Office Head Feleke Gebre-Michael said the office has secured the stated sum from direct and indirect taxes as well as other income titles through its 16 income collecting offices.

Though the office envisaged collecting 32.5 million birr, it exceeded the target by two million birr, he elaborated. Feleke further said the revenue collected during the period exceeded that of same period last year by 8.3 million birr.

He attributed the increase to the tax reform, arrear taxes being paid by existing investors, flow of new investors to the zone owing to the suitable situation created by the zonal administration. it was learnt.
