While presenting the six-month performance report on the 13th regular conference of the woreda council, Woreda administrator Tessema Teklu said the cooperation of the public is mandatory as security in the woreda is worsening.

Sexual harassment on women, burglary as well as murder are becoming common in the woreda, he said, and urged the participants of the conference to give due attention to the problem.

After in-depth deliberations on the report, the participants reached consensus that the problem of the woreda would sustainably be solved when the public bring the perpetrators to justice.

They also urged all members of the woreda council to discharge their responsibilities of ensuring peace and order in their respective localities by actively involving the public and giving due attention to the problem.

The participants also passed decision for the formulation of law by coordinating Idirs, religious heads and elders so as to prevent the sexual violence perpetrated against women.
